When asked what does an actor need to do strong work Sandy spoke of three elements. The imagination of a child, the ability to focus; to listen and finally empathy,  sensitivity and compassion. You will rediscover and reside in these attributes during this intensive. And have a whole lotta fun. Acting is meant to be fun.

Casting looks first and foremost for our ability to connect with text and who we are working with. This new world of self tapes and online auditioning is here to stay. We will take advantage of our being together in person to focus on and distill what needs to happen in order for strong self tapes and effective online auditioning to pop and stand out.

Show up with a prepared monologue (of your choosing) no longer than 90 seconds. If you need help picking one let me know via email (kirk@kirkbaltz.com) and I’ll help you. We will run them and roll in Meisner based techniques and exercises.

Sign up for both Fridays and you’ll have the option to run a scene with a partner in the March 1st session.
